The Siva Purana meditates on meaning of the mantra ॐ नम शिवाय oṃ nama śivāyaśaṃ nityaṃ sukhaṃ ānandamikāraḥ puruṣaḥ smṛtaḥvakāraḥ śaktiḥ amṛtaṃmelanaṃ śiva ucyate Siva = शं (Sam) +   इ (i) + व (va) शं Sam stands for eternal calm and quietude;   इ (i) stands for Self and va stands for Shakti and everlasting life. Therefore the combination should be adored in the form of Siva.   The Soma Sundareshwara Swamy Temple at Chinmaya Mission Austin will be celebrating Maha Sivaratri on Feb.  15th.
