Barbosa Elite School of Chess

Description:

* Tournament format: Quads (In-person)—Players will be grouped in fours, starting with the highest-rated players based on their live OTB rating. They will play against the three other rated players in their group.

* Location: 330 West 38th St. NY, NY 10018

* Eligibility: Open to all K-12 students with a valid USCF Membership

* Cost: $60 

Registration closes at 8:00 AM of the tournament day

* Time control: Game 45 delay 5

* Round times: 

1st round: 9:00 AM

2nd round: 11:00 AM

3rd round: 1:00 PM

* Awards - $20 Amazon gift card per Quad winner

*** Please include the full name and USCF ID on the notes on registration.

 


Additional Information:

* In the case of extra players, there will be a small Swiss group for the lowest-rated players. They will play 3 games.

* Limited to 24 players

* This is a drop-off event.

Drop off: 8:45 AM

Pickup: After they finish their 3rd game.

* No byes permitted

* TD has the discretion to move players to avoid sibling pairing. TD can also adjust so no more than two players from the same school will be in the same group.

* US Chess Federation membership required. All players must have a valid USCF ID. Please register here for the USCF membership or renewal: https://new.uschess.org/join-us-chess. If you need help with registration/renewal, email us at support@gmbarbosachess.com. We can also handle the registration/renewal for a small fee.

* Chess clocks required, please bring your own
