Description:

This year Mahalaya Paksha/Pitru Paksha falls between Sep 2 - Sep 16. Due to current pandemic conditions, we are happy to announce that our patrons can avail of our priest services via zoom for performing Tharpanam and Brahmayagnam.

Pitru Paksha also known as Mahalaya Paksha or Shraaddh Paksha or Kanagat, is a period of fifteen days dedicated to dead ancestors and forefathers. During Pitru Paksha, Hindus pay homage to their ancestors and perform rites for the departed ancestors to keep their souls indebted for years. They also make donations in the form of food offerings or contribute to anna dhanam efforts. It is also advised to perform the tharpanam on the same thithi as the yearly thithi during this period. One can also perform tharpanam on the Amavasya day (Sep 16, 2020).

Additional Information:

This is a common zoom session for Sep 16 Mahalaya Amavasai.

Registration cutoff is Sep 15 9pm.
